November 25, Reuters Defensor Florian Lejeune’s late own goal in the second half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano gave Barcelona a point.

With 31 points, the La Liga winners sit third in the rankings, one point behind Real Madrid in second place and three behind Girona, the surprising leaders who still have a game to play.

Midfielder Unai Lopez’s incredible long-range goal in the 39th minute gave Rayo the lead. The team outperformed the winners from the previous season from the outset.

After the break, Barca redoubled their efforts and eventually leveled things up when Lejeune, a Rayo defender, made a mistake in the 82nd minute while attempting to clear a cross with the tip of his boot.
