Tottenham Hotspur are seeking for a quality attacker in the January transfer window and have highlighted Jota as a possible target.

According to Caught Offside, Jota is being considered, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham and Jota can reach an agreement. Only two months ago, the winger joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Itthad in a £25 million move. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo, though, has ruled him out.

Jota will be excited by the prospect of joining a Premier League side, and he will be eager to put an end to his Saudi Arabian nightmare. The 24-year-old Portuguese winger can play on either flank and will help Tottenham’s assault with goals and inventiveness.

Given his situation at the Saudi Arabian club, he could be available for a reasonable price as well. So far, he has played just 133 minutes for his new club and scored once. He will look to play regularly at this stage of his career. He joined the Saudi Pro League club for £25 million and they could demand a similar fee for him.

Jota had an exceptional 2022/23 campaign with Celtic, scoring 15 goals and picking up 12 versus across all competitions. Tottenham can certainly use a goalscoring winger for their left flank and Jota would be a quality acquisition.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to submit a concrete proposal to sign the player when the transfer window reopens in January. Tottenham have started the season well, and they are currently on top of the league table. They will be hoping to challenge for the league title and bringing in quality additions in January could help them perform at a high level.
