“Tottenham Hints at Early Lineup Changes vs Luton after Postecoglou’s Decision”

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur prepares to face Luton Town in a bid to go top of the table on Saturday.

Several Tottenham players have hinted that they will play against Luton Town on Saturday, as Ange Postecoglou attempts to extend his side’s undefeated record in charge. The Australian has won five and drawn two of his seven league games so far, and a win would put him at the top of the standings for 24 hours.

Spurs have kept pace with last year’s winners Manchester City and will have a two-point advantage at the top if they win at Kenilworth Road in the early kick-off. Although they started well under Antonio Conte before crashing and burning, it is the massive environment shift that has fueled supporters more than anything else.

Now, approaching the second international break of the season, Tottenham are well in the mix at this stage and appear to be ahead of schedule. This will count for little if they are unable to beat one of the weaker sides in the league though.

Luton have only won once this team, beating Everton last week at Goodison Park, and have four points in their past two games. Rob Edwards’ side are still hotly tipped for relegation though and will do well to get anything from the visit of Tottenham.

Even a rotated and threadbare squad for Postecoglou doesn’t stop them from being heavy favourites for the game but the new head coach will be working without a number of key first team players. Amongst them are Brennan Johnson, Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon and Rodrigo Bentancur whilst knocks to others have dented the depth.

What is clear at Spurs is the settled nature of most of the squad and for the large part the starting XIs have been predictable. Now, ahead of the meeting with the Hatters, Cristian Romero is amongst those to once again hint at his involvement. The Argentine has been central to the success of the side defensively and posted an image of himself front and centre of a pre-match promotional graphic for the game.

New team talisman James Maddison has also been active online. He reposted an image of himself from training at Hotspur Way, writing: “Preparing for the big game tomorrow lunchtime [bicep emoji].” Maddison is a shoe-in to start having been central to his team’s impressive work so far.

Maddison hasn’t been at 100 per cent in recent weeks, his boss confirmed ahead of the game, but once more looks set to take centre stage here. “No-one’s wrapped in cotton wool mate. There’s no cotton wool here,” he responded when asked about the English playmaker on Friday.

“There’s only bad wire and uncomfortable uniforms, mate. They all work hard every day they just have different programmes. Madders has worked hard all week, he hasn’t missed a session.”

Elsewhere Spurs themselves have posted images of Destiny Udogie and Maddison on social media platform X ahead of kick-off. None of this should come as a surprise though with both players being key to the squad so far. Nevertheless, it is a boost to see the players fit and ready to go as injuries form around them.
