Tottenham Hotspur has shown interest in signing Juventus starlet Matias Soule, according to a report in JuventusLive, but Newcastle is currently leading the chase for the adaptable attacker.

Soule, 20, has long been seen as a future star. This season, while on loan at Frosinone, he is beginning to live up to expectations, managing six goals and an assist in 12 Serie A appearances thus far (Transfermarket).

Now, according to Juve Live, Tottenham has shown interest in the winger, who can also play as a number eight or ten, ahead of January. The North London team is reportedly searching for offensive reinforcements.

Although it is revealed that Newcastle is now in front of the line to get the player’s signature, Soule is also reportedly under observation by Crystal Palace.

It is reported that the Magpies informed Juventus of their intention to sign the Argentina under-20 international, and Cristiano Giuntoli, the director of the Serie A club, is scheduled to visit England to discuss a possible deal.

According to the report, Howe wants the deal done quickly, and the Old Lady are seeking for a price for Soule that is around €25 million (£21.3 million), which Newcastle would be willing to pay.

It is shocking that Juventus is thinking of taking a chance on a young player with Soule’s potential; this may be a sign of the financial difficulties the Serie A team is facing.

Given that it seems like every player in the Bionconeri’s roster has a price tag, Tottenham may want to test the market in January with offers for players like Federico Chiesa and Gleison Bremer.
