Three changes have been made to Manchester United’s starting lineup for their Premier League clash against Manchester City at Old Trafford today by manager Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils, who have recently won three straight games, will be looking to defeat their bitter rivals once more. There are a few unexpected adjustments made before the game.

Raphael Varane is now on the bench for replacements. It might have to do with fitness. Jonny Evans has been chosen to partner Harry Maguire at the center of the defense in his place.

Sergio Reguilon has been replaced at left back by Victor Lindelof. Taking into account that the Spaniard has only lately recovered from an injury, the decision makes sense.

The 26-year-old may not be up to the intensity to play two games in a week and could feature off the bench if required. Elsewhere, Antony is not in the starting line-up for United.

After underwhelming displays against Sheffield United and Copenhagen, the Brazilian has dropped to the bench. In his place, Christian Eriksen has got the nod in the XI.

The Dane was handed the man of the match in midweek for his assist. He has returned to the starting line-up for the first time since facing Bayern on September 20.

The official Man Utd lineup for United is as follows (4-3-3): Andre Onana; Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford; Scott McTominay, Sofyan Amrabat, Christian Eriksen; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof.

On paper, United’s squad is far from flawless. Casemiro is a major midfield loss. He had an ankle problem that he was unable to overcome. Varane’s exclusion is unexpected considering how crucial the match is.

Ten Hag will be hoping that his group can withstand the Cityzens’ challenge. They need to play better for the occasion, but they can definitely win the most points.
