Mason Mount and Sergio Reguilon will start for Manchester United on Tuesday when they take on FC Copenhagen.

On Tuesday night, Manchester United will host FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford in an attempt to extend their recent winning streak and earn their first victory in the UEFA Champions League this year. A mixed bag of team news reports have been received by Erik ten Hag ahead of his squad’s most recent match.

After getting sent off against Galatasaray on Matchday 2 of the group stage, Casemiro is currently serving a suspension. However, the Brazilian midfielder might not have played anyhow because he has been suffering from an ankle ailment for the past several days.

The seasoned midfielder is in the treatment room with Amad Diallo (knee), Kobbie Mainoo (ankle), Luke Shaw (muscle), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Lisandro Martinez (foot), and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (muscle injury). Jadon Sancho is also still unavailable because of a workplace policy issue.

The good news is that Sergio Reguilon, who has recovered from an illness, should be able to play. Additionally, at his pre-game press conference, Erik ten Hag provided an update on the Spaniard’s physical condition.

“Sergio, he got sick for Saturday so he was fit,” he said. He worked out every day last week, and yesterday (Sunday), he resumed some of his training. He will practice today, and we will then determine whether he is prepared and game-ready or whether he can join the squad. We must hold out for that.

Reguilon ought to take Reguilon’s place on the left side in the starting lineup. The Spanish defender will line up behind Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, and them. Andre Onana, who continues to play between the sticks, will be covered by the quartet.

In the absence of Casemiro, Sofyan Amrabat and Scott McTominay should continue to play in the double pivot. As a result, Christian Eriksen will once again be on the bench, with a potential appearance in the second half.

The creative load will be shared by Mason Mount, who will start in place of Antony, and Bruno Fernandes. The offensive unit should be finished by Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund, with Antony, Anthony Martial, and Alejandro Garnacho serving as backup possibilities.
