At some point in history, FC Barcelona has had the privilege of having a number of all-time greats wear the Blaugrana colors. At various times, Barcelona has fielded players such as Johan Cruyff, Ronaldo Nazario, Diego Maradona, and others.

But no matter how good a player gets, maybe none can compare to this particular Argentine. He was once hailed as Maradona’s heir, but he is now without a doubt in that position.

The best player FC Barcelona has ever had the honor of naming their own is still Lionel Messi. He is currently playing for Inter Miami, but his Barça colors will never fade.

Messi has no limits.

The La Masia graduate, who is already buried in awards, just hit a new peak. He is the current record holder for the esteemed Ballon d’Or award and has now succeeded in expanding his already remarkable collection.

Lionel Messi was declared the winner of the Ballon d’Or in the most recent version of the event, which was hosted by France Football. Messi now adds an eighth to his previous total of seven awards, which are granted to the finest male football player of the year.

In terms of his Ballon D’Or accomplishments, the Barcelona icon is unmatched and unparalleled. The nearest competitor is the legendary Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo, but even he only has five as opposed to Messi’s eight.

Femini Barcelona and Aitana

Several Barcelona celebrities also left the Ballon d’Or ceremony with prizes. President Joan Laporta traveled to Paris with the club delegation, which included a few players.

Barcelona Femini’s Aitana Bonmati won the esteemed Ballon d’Or for women. La Blaugrana should be proud of the fact that both of this year’s Ballon D’Or winners were La Masia alums.

Additionally, Barcelona won the title of Best Women’s Club of the Year. Barcelona Femini were the worthy recipients of the honor, having taken home both domestic and continental trophy in the previous season.

Barcelona, a team that is all too familiar with the occasion, had another exciting Ballon D’Or ceremony with these honors.

Regarding Lionel Messi, this is his third decade as the Ballon d’Or winner for Argentina. After receiving the honor in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, and 2021, he now includes his most recent accomplishment from 2023 in the list.
