According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham is closely monitoring Sunderland sensation Jobe Bellingham.

Spurs are thought to have been following the 18-year-old all season after Football Insider’s report that he initially drew their attention in January at his former team, Birmingham City.

Bellingham has started all 16 of the Black Cats’ Championship games this season, and the team has sent scouts to see him frequently.

He moved for £3 million from Birmingham City to Sunderland during the summer transfer window, and earlier this season, he scored a brace for Tony Mowbray’s team against Rotherham, his first-ever professional goal.

The Bundesliga teams and several Premier League teams had already expressed interest in the teenage sensation.

Football Insider (6 November) said that Spurs are eager to add a defensive midfielder and a center-back during the January transfer window.

Bellingham is a flexible midfielder who can play in wide and central areas behind the primary striker. He is the younger brother of Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid legend.

He has contributed three goals and one assist this season to enable Sunderland, who are now sixth in the Championship table, become a serious contender for promotion.

Before the international break, Tottenham lost two straight games in the Premier League against Chelsea and Man City. Despite leading the league for most of the season, Tottenham now sits fourth in the standings.

In other reports, a source close to Tottenham said that Lloyd Kelly revealed that an offer had been made and that “it will happen.”
