In 2024, Arsenal will make another attempt to sign 19-year-old Ousmane Diomande, a center-back for Sporting CP.

As per SportWitness and Record, Ousmane Diomande is highly desired by Arsenal to join their team. For some time now, the Gunners have been considering hiring the teenage sensation. Despite their summertime failure, they intend to come back for his services in 2024.

Diomande joined Sporting CP at the beginning of the season, having progressed through the ranks at FC Midtjylland. Since then, the 19-year-old has become even more successful. For the Portuguese club, he has already appeared in 33 games and even helped to score four goals.

The Ivory Coast international quickly became a pillar of the team. He has also received a lot of attention for his outstanding performances. For some time now, the 22-year-old has been connected to a number of clubs, including Arsenal.

He was a target for the Gunners, who made a €35 million bid to sign him recently. Nevertheless, his bid was not successful enough to get him into the North London club. They are still considering using the former Midtjylland defender, though. That was back in 2024, and they had explicitly stated that they would be coming back for him.

The goal of Mikel Arteta is to strengthen his team even more. He is hoping to add a player who can benefit the team both now and down the road in order to give the defense more depth in the middle. Due to his potential for improvement, Diomande might be a fantastic fit for the team.

It is possible that he has a deal with the Portuguese team through the 2027 summer. However, a bigger club is anticipated to sign the 22-year-old in the future. It will be interesting to see what kind of offer Arsenal makes this time around in January, as his contract has a release clause worth €80 million. They will not likely let the player go cheaply during the midseason window considering how important he is to the Sporting CP team.
