Manchester United learn how much they will need to pay for Marc Guehi
Manchester United requires defensive reinforcements, which is no secret. They have been linked with a number of players recently, the most recent being Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Guehi is without a doubt one of the Premier League’s most talented young players. He has developed an excellent relationship for the Eagles with Joachim Andersen, and it is no surprise that he has attracted so much attention.
The English centre-back has a lot of things to be liked about him. A very smart and physical player who is excellent defensive but is also very good going forward, Guehi has all the attributes to make him a top-class defender.
This is not the first time we are hearing of Guehi being linked with a top club and this is definitely not the last time that he will be. The English defender deserves a big move and he would be perfect for a club like United.According to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United will need to pay £60m to sign Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. In today’s transfer market, that fee does not seem too much for a player of his quality.
Manchester United’s defence is not the best one going around. Whilst Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are quality, both of them are injury-prone and are struggling to play regularly for the club, at least this season.
The backups like Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Evans don’t inspire much confidence. Every top club has at least three top-quality centre-backs if not more and United need someone like Guehi to help them sort such issues.
A solid defence is required if United aspire to be trophy challengers. Let’s hope we sign someone of Guehi’s quality really soon.
