“Breaking: Robert Lewandowski and Tottenham’s attacker are the ideal combination for Barcelona,”

Prior to the January transfer window, Barcelona is rumored to be targeting a new attacking midfield player in an effort to find a replacement for Lewandowski at number ten.

And Lo Celso of Tottenham Hotspur is the player at the top of Xavi’s midseason wish list, according to a recent report from SPORT.

After spending the previous season on loan at Villarreal, it appeared as though Lo Celso’s career at Spurs was over. However, under Ange Postecoglou, the 27-year-old has experienced an incredible comeback.

Argentina’s Lo Celso, who was given regular playing time after James Maddison sustained a long-term injury, has possibly been the Lilywhites’ most crucial player in recent games. In addition to scoring against Aston Villa, the 27-year-old from South America scored a huge goal against Manchester City, the reigning champions, the previous weekend.

Due to his stellar play, the once-shunned midfield player has been linked to a sensational transfer to the Nou Camp.

But, Barcelona will not find it simple to seal the deal. Spurs are unwilling to part with their number 18 player midway through the season, and the Catalan giants will find it nearly impossible to complete a transfer due to budgetary constraints, primarily related to the club’s wage structure.

Lo Celso, who still has 18 months left on his deal, has played in 91 games across all competitions for Spurs over the course of his three-year tenure, tallying six assists and 10 goals.
