In the current summer transfer window, FC Barcelona added a number of players who are already key members of the squad. A few of Xavi’s favorite players are Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Felix, and Joao Cancelo.

The futures of Felix and Cancelo are less certain because they are only on loan at the moment, but Gundogan’s contract at Barcelona runs until 2025 with the option to extend it for an additional season. But Barcelona has already been persuaded by their performances to make every effort to keep them in the team for a longer period of time.

It had previously been stated that Barcelona intended to wrap up talks for the two players by the upcoming summer transfer window. The Catalans are reportedly now seriously considering moving forward with the process to sign them during the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo.

According to the report, Barcelona is concerned that if the two continue to play well, their clubs will demand more money at the end of the season and there will be more clubs vying for their signatures.

Cancelo and Felix prioritize remaining at Barcelona, and the Catalan club is certain that they have no intention of going back to their parent clubs. Joao Felix is even less thrilled about playing for Diego Simeone again, and Cancelo is not too eager to play for Pep Guardiola once more.

Felix is estimated by Atletico Madrid to be worth €80 million, while City is anticipated to demand €25 million for Cancelo. Barcelona hopes to negotiate a reduction in these players’ asking prices to €15 million for Cancelo and €40 million for Felix.

Barcelona’s first choice is to purchase these players outright. The Catalans can also include a player that Atletico Madrid likes in a trade to get Felix’s price lowered. Jorge Mendes is also trying to make sure that these two customers stay with Barcelona for a number of years.
