Barcelona made news in Spanish media this week when they announced the extension of Alejandro Balde’s contract.
The signing of the kid to a new contract until 2028 was a significant step forward for the organisation. However, there will be many more to come as Deco strives to meet his critical contract renewal objectives.
Barcelona to finalise Xavi’s renewal
Barcelona are completing the terms of Xavi Hernandez’s contract extension, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The present contract of Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde ends at the conclusion of the season, although the club is intent on retaining him in the future.
With that in mind, sports director Deco and Xavi’s agency are nearing completion on a deal that may keep the coach at Camp Nou until 2025.
The agreement might be extended for another year provided specific objectives and expectations are met.
Contract renewal not ruled out tomorrow
According to the report, Barcelona’s decision to renew Xavi’s contract is not fully ruled out.
This is especially true given that both sides – Xavi’s agency and the club – have a strong relationship and the deal should be imminent.
The aim for all parties was to establish a strong team during the summer before making a decision on the deal.
Now that it is complete, Barça can announce the renewal of Xavi, who has been instrumental in ushering in a new era at Camp Nou.
Interestingly, Xavi has a press conference arranged for tomorrow, prior of the match against Celta Vigo. During the news conference, the coach will be able to discuss his contract situation.
