After moving from Chelsea to Arsenal for £65 million in the summer, Kai Havertz has not impressed and is expected to leave the team.
In order to get Florian Wirtz, a sensation at Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal has been instructed to utilize under-fire summer acquisition Kai Havertz in a swap deal. Havertz arrived at the Emirates a few months ago after leaving Chelsea in a summer transfer of £65 million, but he hasn’t exactly been able to get off to the best start.
The German has frequently found himself outside of Mikel Arteta’s preferred starting lineup, and his lone goal for the squad came from a kind penalty that Bukayo Saka awarded to his teammate against Bournemouth. In their most recent game against Turkey, he even attempted to play as a stand-in left defender for Germany, scoring in a 3-2 loss.
Havertz is not a good match for the Gunners, according to former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant, who feels he should be sold for a fellow countryman. Star player Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen is valued at £70 million. He has shown promise in the Bundesliga and is expected to join Liverpool or Chelsea in the Premier League.
“That Kai Havertz signing hasn’t worked,” Pennant told King Casino Bonus. “I thought I’d give him some time to settle in, but that period is over now. I think he’s been a poor signing. I don’t understand what he brings to the team as he’s not scoring or assisting. It’s bizarre as Arteta seems to believe in him.
“I think Arsenal should have gone for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz. His footballing IQ is off the charts! He’s not a speed-merchant, but he’s clever on the ball and he seems to always pick the right pass.
“His assists are great, he has an eye for goal, and I think he’d be a fantastic addition to Arsenal. He’d fit in perfectly there. Wirtz would be a lot cheaper, and they should trade him in for Kai!”
